Field Ranger's Guide to Woodland Creatures is a story following two main characters: Mary Vinehowler-- who was appointed as the head guard of her struggling village two years ago when her father died-- and her new companion, Lilly Hollow-- a seemingly airheaded field ranger apprentice with a vast knowledge of creatures and how they behave, at the cost of her social skills. Together, these two protect Mary's village against the beasts that lurk within the woods surrounding it, uncover the mystery between the death of Mary's father and the disappearance of the village's lord, and face Lilly's inevitable expulsion from her apprenticeship after uncovering something she wasn't supposed to see.
